December Observances!

It’s time for another poll! There are lots of Holidays and Observances in December, including Christmas, Hanukkah (which starts this year on the evening of December 22), Kwanzaa, and New Years, of course.  But we also celebrate things like International human rights, Write a Business plan month, and much more. MUCH more! In the poll below, see if you can guess what we don’t celebrate in December. You might be surprised. 🙂

Here’s a link showing all those December holidays and observances.

It’s surprising that we celebrate tropical fruit and tomatoes in December, but not snowmen. It seems snowmen get celebrated in January–but not in Armonk! Armonk, of course, is the birthplace of this fellowfrosty

And the Frosty parade takes place every year the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. If you missed it, and you’re in the area, come in to the art gallery in the North Castle Library to see a display all about Frosty and his creator.

We’ve also got lots of books to help you and your family have fun in the snow. Come to the reference area to find books on winter sports and more. Whatever you celebrate in December, you can get lots of ideas at the library.
